In "Old Black Dog, he knew my name."

When I was 13, I traveled in Europe with my parents and we went to go see that church. The lady that ran the B&B we stayed at told us the story and I made them take me.

In "Curious George - Exporting and Importing into Gmail"

From the Gmail support pages: AOL doesn’t have the functionality to export your address book, so you’ll have to create a custom CSV file if you use this service. You can use Excel to create a .csv [save as: 'CSV (Comma delimited)] Thats pretty much how I got my contacts out of Hotmail.

Nathaniel Merriweather Presents: Lovage, Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady by. It's produced by Dan the Automator (Octagon, Gorrilaz, Handsome Boy Modeling School) and features the amazing voices of Mike Patton (Mr.Bungle, Faith no More, Fantomas, Tommahawk) and Jennifer Charles (Elysian Fields). The track Strangers on a Train (Real Player. Streaming) is worth checking out if you like Portishead I think.

In "SXSW is coming."

I might be. Allthough I might be downtown. I guess it depends on how far south. South of Riverside or south of 290? (I'm never really clear on what people mean when they say South Congress). Anyway, if it's just south of Riverside then I can probably ride my bike there, and if that's the case, I'm in.

Lots of really good places around Katz's on 6th just west of Congress like Little Woodrow's, Opal Devine's, Mother Egan's, and Molotov. Also I think anywhere with an outdoor section would make it easier to hear over the music.

So I take it there's nothing going on tonight?

I'll likely be in Houston from tomorrow through Wednsday, but anytime after Wedndsay at around 8 or so I should be free, and definately interested in this Austin meetup idea.

Here's a good generator. And not only can you generate lipsum, but also Esperanto or morse code.

Damn sexyrobot....that IS a man. I never would have noticed if you hadn't said something.

The Gingerman also has that nice big garden patio thing out back.

Sweet *Note to those who've never been to SXSW before. The seemingly ridiculously overpriced wristbands may be worth it after all, depending on how much you want to see. I went to the Web of Mimicry showcase at Emo’s last year with some friends without a wristband and it was almost a disaster. My friends went in to the show 20 min before the first act, and I opted to run down the block for a pack of smokes and meet them inside. After only about 5 minutes I returned and tried to pay my way in when they told me they had stopped admitting people who didn’t have wristbands. I had to wait through all of Eric Freidlander’s set trying to make the girl at the door pity me enough to let me pay twice the cover to get in. I’m definitely getting a wristband this year.

In "Curious George: What did you do today?"

Spent all morning cleaning my apartment and making lunch for my girlfriend, who instead of coming over, called to break up with me. Good times.

Plasticbag is a favorite of mine. Hot Links is all headlines, and by the time I get to it, I've usually already read everything on it elsewhere, but I still check it frequently. Engadget is probably my favorite tech blog.

Reminds me of Sodaplay.

Does your mother know what you are thinking about? I am not allowed to talk about stuff like this, but, I am guessing that it has something to do with drugs? Yes , No , Close 18.Does it stink? Yes.

In "Curious, George: Good Pet Choice?"

I had a guinea pig that was let to roam free in the back yard and was a great pet. The only maintenance it ever required was to leave a half a head of lettuce and a carrot by the bush where she lived every day

I've never heard of blueRobot before now. Thanks for the link schadenfreude. You might add 456 Berea Street to your list; it has always been helpfull to me.

In "Monkey Rucksacks:"

I bought one of these a few years ago (only it was blue, had padding on the strap, and cost $70 more) , and despite everything I've put it through, it still looks great and there's not a single stich out of place. It's a great bag and I love it every bit as much now as I did when I bought it. Your new bag looks great Zanshin, but I dont think I could give up the luxury of getting at the contents of my bag without removing it from my back. I'm ever so lazy and every little bit helps.

In "Curious George: Weird Music"

I think most anything Mike Patton does outside Faith No More qualifies as a little strange (Tommahawk & Lovage excluded). At least the second major Mr.Bungle release, the first and third Fantomas albums, both solo "albums", and anything he's done on any of John Zorn's albums are pretty wierd. Zorn is wierd. [I'll fight you] : )

John Zorn was actually mentioned by TheRoach about halfway up the page, but due to a missed "<" his name was lost in the jumble of a tripod URL. I've been collecting Zorn for years. Check out his record label Tzadik, with lots of great wierd artists like Rashanim, Jamie Shaft, and Koby Isrealite. Some good Zorn stuff to start out with: Masada: an improv bebop-ish quartet with an affinity for klezmer (note:live albums are especially good). The Big Gundown: an album full of Ennio Morricone covers. The Gift: jazzy surfy stuff. Some bad stuff to start out with: IAO: barely anything happenes on this album. Locus Solus: an album in which you are assulted with a saxaphone. Elgy: just plain boring (somebody may like it, just not me).
